Part One, of the Way Saturday, Jul 2 2011

The tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.
The Name that can be named is not the eternal Name.

The unnamable is the eternally real.
Naming is the origin of all particular things.

Free from desire, you realize the mystery.
Caught in desire, you see only the manifestations.

Yet mystery and manifestations arise from the same source.
This source is called darkness.

Darkness within darkness.
The gateway to all understanding.

Lao Tzu opens up the Tao Te Ching with claiming that the way that can be told, is not the eternal way.
This is the theme of the entirety of part one. Ignorance leads to truth, yet not blind ignorance, admittance of it and acceptance of the truth as it is revealed. Often we make the mistake of trying to take the truth as we see fit, this is a mistake. The proper form of learning, is to remain in the spectator state, and allowing truth to reveal itself in accordance with it self.

Part Ten, of the Way Sunday, Jun 26 2011

Can you cox your mind from its wandering and keep to the original oneness?

Can you let your body become supple as a newborn child’s?

Can you cleanse your inner vision until you see nothing but the light?

Can you love people and lead them without imposing your own will?

Can you deal with the most vital matters by letting events take their course?

Can you step back from your own mind and thus understand all things?

Giving birth and nourishing, having without possessing, acting with no expectations, leading and not trying to control:
this is the supreme virtue.

A reflection on taking a step back and embracing the fluidity of life. One cannot understand, and ought not try to think they have a grasp while they are militant in nature. Certainly this touches on our societies desire to superimpose opinions, stances and beliefs. What good is this? Are we removing subjectivity from objectivity? Indeed, this is absurd.
